Things you may wish to know about tattooing to answer your curiosity

I AM SCARED I WILL FAINT OR PASS OUT ?

We advise that you have had something to eat before getting tattooed especially something containing sugar to build up your blood sugar levels i.e. Mars Bar or a Lucozade drink.

WHAT IF MY TATTOO BECOMES DAMAGED ?

You will be charged if it is due to your neglect i.e. Picking the scab during it healing. But rubbing of clothes and knocking it in bed etc. cannot be helped. All repair work is charged depending on the how the damage is caused and how much work is entailed to correct it.

MY FRIEND TATTOO’S FROM HOME AND IS CHEAPER ?

He is probably known to us professional tattoo artists as a “SCRATCHER”. You may run the risk of infection and sterilization may not be carried out properly. Also you may end up having to get it repaired or covered eventually as they may use cheap inks to be able to carry out cheap tattoo’s. Infections etc. due to their procedure during the tattoo may also be passed onto other family members and children. Always ask to see hygiene certificates and photo’s of work carried out in their studio. If need be you can also speak to the local health authority and they will guide you to a safe studio.

IS TATTOOING SAFE ?

Yes…. Sterilization and infection standards are practiced by my Tattoo Studio. Anything that comes in contact with the blood/body fluids must be disposed of (single use) or sterilized (autoclaved).

WHAT IS AN AUTOCLAVE ?

An autoclave is a heat / steam / pressure unit that achieves and maintains 250 degrees Fahrenheit (121 degrees Celsius). Under 10 pounds (4.5kgs) pressure for 30 minutes or up to 270F (132oC) under 15 pounds (6.8kgs) pressure for 15 minutes. Most units run a 55 minute cycle from a cold start. It is the only accepted method of sterilization that will kill every micro-organism known.

WHAT ABOUT INKS AND OTHER MATERIALS ?

All ointments, pigments, gloves, ink cups, razor etc. used to apply your tattoo are discarded after use. After the tattoo procedure is completed, the work area is disinfected to kill any surface bacteria or viruses.

WHAT ABOUT AIDS / HIV ?

It takes 10 microlitres (equivalent to 10 drops) of blood and deep intra-muscular puncture to transmit the HIV virus. Tattoo needles are solid core where syringe needles are hollow. So when getting tattooed, the needle applies the ink just beneath the skins surface.

TEMPORARY TATTOOS

Please do not ask at my Studio as there is no such thing and every other studio will give the same answer. They never have nor never will exist. There is such things as henna tattoo’s which are temporary but again this is not carried out at my studio. The tattooing process I undertake at my studio

IS PERMANENT AND IS FOR LIFE !!!!

Q. Why do you like a customer to supply you with some form of visual images

Everyone has their own ideas of what they want and they see it in a certain way, however, this might not be the way I see it. Providing me with visual images of styles and types of work you like will help me to give you the tattoo YOU want and not so much what I think you want.

Q. When are you open?

11am til’ 5pm Mon to Fri and Sat 10am til’ 5pm  Always call before

coming down to the studio as sometimes I may finish early .

Q. Why are you rude to telesales people?

Because they are parasites. If I want something, I will ask for it and I don’t appreciate people wasting my time.

Q. Can I book online?

No, It is much simpler to call the studio.

Q. Why do I have to pay a deposit with the booking?

This secures the appointment and is a guarantee for me. All to often people want the tattoo done there and then. This is almost impossible to do and hence why the appointment is needed. Sometimes people then change their mind or whatever but don’t always bother ringing up to tell us thereby wasting my time. A deposit has to be paid at the studio by CASH ONLY. This deposit is non returnable on cancellation.

Q. Can you send me some examples of tattoo designs or view them on your site?

No. If you want to see the portfolios you will have to come to the studio to look at them. This is down to the fact that people could then take them to another studio to get tattooed which is not how I choose to run my business for others to gain from.

Q. I want a full back tattoo or just a small tattoo or a name, how much?

How long is a piece of string, I work price per design and will only quote a price once I have seen it. It is based on work and detail entailed in design !

Q. How big and where?

Similar answer to above. Think about size and placement. You can’t do vast amounts of detail on a small tattoo, it does not look good. Think about where you want it, as you will be wearing it for life.

Q. I want a tattoo but am not sure what I want?

If you want a tattoo, there isn’t much point in contacting the studio till you know what you want. I can’t think for you as a tattoo is very individual and what one-person likes another may not. When you do know, then get in touch. Alternately you can call into the studio to look through our designs.
